Fishing Tales

The following tips are provided after many years of traveling the world fishing and listening to "Sea Stories". E-mail me your tip and I'll place on this page with your Name, City, and State.

  1. When fishing for Saltwater Blues...Don't use a hook! Instead buy, borrow, or remove your panty hose, insert some highly reflective silver, gold, or multi-color tape in the legs and bundle up the waist. Insert a heavy duty snap swivel in the waist of the panty hose and cast into the Blues. The Blues will hit the panty hose because they think it's an eel and get their teeth tangled in the nylon. This tip will save you tons of money in lures. Charlie Velez, Garrisonville, VA
  2. If you like eating eels but don't like to take them off the hook alive...get some chewing tobacco and let some of the juice trickle down the line and into the eels mouth. The eel will die quickly making it easy to remove it off the hook. Eels taste great and are easy to clean! Charlie Velez, Garrisonville, VA
